How Digital Innovations Are Revolutionizing Daily CarePractices
The Tannenberg Retirement Home is one of the smaller care facilities and has always placed a strong emphasis
on the well-being of its residents and care team. However, it can be a challenge to keep track of 22 residents
who are free to move around the house and 26 staff members spread across three floors. Especially at night,
when the night shift is alone in the building, the safety of both residents and staff has been a central concern.
“In order to provide more safety and relief during the night shift, we wanted
to improve our processes and explore new support options.”
The solution came in the form of Nemlia technology. Door sensors were installed to notify the team when a
resident gets up and the door is opened. “This not only gives us more oversight but also a sense of security and
calm, especially for the night shift,” says Kimberly.

An investment in Safety and Cost Efficiency
But Kimberly’s vision goes even further. One of the first initiatives of her tenure is to drive digitalization a
Tannenberg: “Digitalization is becoming increasingly important in healthcare. Especially for smaller facilities
like ours, where every penny counts, it’s crucial that we operate efficiently.” That’s why she is enthusiastic
about Nemlia’s pricing model, which charges for usage rather than requiring expensive upfront investments.
“This is exactly what we need, and it’s time for the care industry to keep pace with technological
developments,” says Kimberly, sharing her view on the future of healthcare.
With her commitment and openness to new technologies, Kimberly is determined to make Tannenberg a
pioneer in digital care. “I hope that through our experiences, we can also inspire other facilities to take the leap
into digitalization,” she says in conclusion.
“At the end of the day, it’s about providing our residents with the best possible care while
also relieving the burden on our staff.”
